Vijay Deverakonda Almost Produced ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ – Here’s Why He Passed

Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Kingdom’ Postponed, But He’s Got Plenty More Coming
Vijay Deverakonda fans, mark your calendars! His upcoming spy action thriller, ‘Kingdom’, has been pushed back to July 4, 2025. Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, the film was highly anticipated for next year.
A Movie He Almost Made
But that’s not all. In a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, Vijay opened up about a film that almost starred him – ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ (known as ‘Kanam’ in Tamil). The movie, which featured Sharwanand and was directed by Shree Karthick, was actually narrated to Vijay multiple times. He revealed he loved the script and was even interested in producing it.
Not the Right Fit
However, Vijay ultimately decided he wasn’t the best choice for the lead role. Even though he wanted to back the project as a producer, producer SR Prabhu had other plans. “I will do it,” Prabhu reportedly said.
The film, released in 2022, received positive reviews. Interestingly, it came out just a month before ‘Liger’, one of Vijay’s biggest career setbacks.
What’s Next for Vijay Deverakonda?
Despite the ‘Liger’ disappointment, Vijay has a busy schedule ahead. He’s working on projects with directors Rahul Sankrityan and Ravi Kiran Kola, and fans can also look forward to a sequel to ‘Kingdom’.
