Tamil Actor’s Wife Seeks ₹40 Lakh Monthly Alimony in Bitter Divorce
Tamil actor Ravi Mohan and his estranged wife Aarti Ravi have been publicly airing their marital woes for months, with dramatic social media statements fueling gossip and speculation. Their divorce proceedings, initiated by Ravi last September in Chennai’s Family Welfare court, are now entering a more contentious phase.
A Shocking Alimony Demand
This week, both parties appeared in court, where Ravi reiterated his desire for divorce, stating that reconciliation was impossible. Aarti, however, made a surprising counter-claim, demanding a staggering ₹40 lakh (roughly $48,000 USD) per month in maintenance. She argues that she requires financial support following their separation. Judge Thenmozhi adjourned the case until June 12th.
A Marriage on the Rocks
The couple’s 15-year marriage seemingly crumbled in 2024 when Ravi walked out, citing irreconcilable differences. Adding fuel to the fire, Ravi’s close friendship with singer Keneeshaa Francis has been widely reported. When he publicly appeared with her at a wedding last week, it sparked fresh controversy.
Public Allegations
Aarti took to Instagram on May 20th, alleging that a ‘third person’ was the cause of their marital breakdown. While she didn’t name Keneeshaa directly, she alluded to her in a post, stating that money, power, or control didn’t destroy their marriage, but rather someone outside their relationship. Aarti’s pointed statement, “The ‘light of your life’ brought only darkness to ours,” directly blames Keneeshaa for the disintegration of their marriage.
