Jaat’s Box Office Journey: Week Three Update

Sunny Deol’s action-packed film ‘Jaat’ has been doing well at the box office, crossing the Rs. 80 crore mark in its first 16 days. However, the film seems to be losing some steam as it enters its third week.

According to Sacnilk, ‘Jaat’ earned around Rs. 85 lakh on its third Friday, marking the first time the film hasn’t crossed the Rs. 1 crore mark. This comes after a strong start for the film, which stars Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda.

Competition Heating Up

The film’s slowdown might be attributed to the increasing competition from other releases. Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday’s ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, which hit theaters in the second week, has been performing well and likely taking away some of the audience from ‘Jaat’.

Adding to the challenge is Emraan Hashmi’s new movie, ‘Ground Zero’, which has earned an estimated Rs. 1 crore on its opening day.

Critical Reception

‘Jaat’ received a 3 out of 5 star rating from our reviewers who described it as “an unabashedly loud, hero-driven spectacle that aims to marry the exaggerated swagger of South Indian action with North Indian machismo.” While acknowledging some impactful moments, the review also noted that the film “plays too safely within the confines of well-worn formulas.”
