Ranbir Kapoor: Airport Queues and Solo Cafés – A Look at the Star’s Down-to-Earth Nature

Ranbir Kapoor, known for his charismatic on-screen presence, is also garnering praise for his humble off-screen persona.
Ranbir’s Low-Key Habits
Former film journalist and Dharma Cornerstone Agency COO Rajeev Masand recently shared some fascinating insights into Ranbir’s character. During a conversation with IndiaTV ShowBiz, Masand recounted an experience where he saw Ranbir standing alone in an airport queue.
“I was standing in a queue at an airport and I saw Ranbir standing there alone. It’s not a sight that you see of actors; they are never alone. I asked him, ‘Where is your team?’ He said, ‘What team?’ This might sound strange to common people, but I would like to tell them that actors don’t stand alone; they have an army of people. Then he stepped outside the airport, and he had someone waiting for him outside, but he was all alone at the airport,” Masand revealed.
This anecdote is not an isolated incident. Masand also shared that several filmmakers have told him similar stories about Ranbir, often finding him eating alone in cafes during breaks while shooting abroad.
The Value of Authenticity
Masand believes that Ranbir’s preference for solitude stems from his desire to stay grounded and connected to the real world. He sees it as a testament to Ranbir’s intelligence and commitment to his craft, saying, “That’s the mark of an intelligent actor. It stems from the fact that he thinks that he needs to be in touch with the real world to be able to play those characters authentically”.
Ranbir’s commitment to authenticity extends to his relationship with social media. In a previous interview with Biz Asia, he admitted that staying off social media is a conscious decision, stating, “I agree that through social media, you have a reach to the larger audience, but I don’t miss it and I am fine being away from it. Never say never, maybe tomorrow, I will come, but right now, I am happy being away from it.”
What’s Next for the Star?
Currently, Ranbir is engrossed in Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated adaptation of the epic Ramayana. He will be portraying the revered role of Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi taking on the iconic role of Sita. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles. Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is set to be released in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027.
