Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum’ Breaks Records: Biggest Malayalam Film on BookMyShow!
Kochi, May 19 – Superstar Mohanlal’s mega blockbuster ‘Thudarum’ is continuing to make waves in Malayalam cinema, setting a new record for ticket sales on the online platform BookMyShow.
A Box Office Triumph
This is a huge win for the actor, who has been delivering back-to-back blockbusters with ‘Thudarum’ following the success of ‘Empuraan’, the sequel to 2019’s ‘Lucifer’. ‘Thudarum’ has already stunned the Malayalam film industry by becoming the first film to cross 100 crores in gross collection within Kerala.

Now, the film has taken another leap by selling the highest number of tickets on BookMyShow. According to reports, ‘Thudarum’ has sold approximately 4.35 million tickets (43.5 lakh) on the platform, surpassing the previous record holder ‘Manjummel Boys’, which sold about 42 lakh tickets in its entire run on BMS.
Adding to its success, ‘Thudarum’ has sold a total of approximately 80 lakh tickets, including both online and offline sales.
Global Box Office Success
At the global box office, the drama thriller has already grossed approximately 223 crores, with 131.50 crores coming from the Indian box office in just 24 days. Analysts predict that ‘Thudarum’ is on track to reach 240 crores globally and could potentially overtake ‘Manjummel Boys’ (241 crores) to become the second-highest-grossing Malayalam film, trailing only behind ‘Empuraan’ which earned 267 crores.
