Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2 Creates a Storm in Telugu Film Market with ₹100 Crore Offer!

The highly anticipated film War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, has already generated massive buzz even before its release on August 14th, 2025. The film’s teaser, which dropped recently, has particularly sparked a lot of interest in the Telugu film industry.

Telugu Distribution Heats Up

According to industry insiders, leading distributors like Mythri Movie Makers, Sri Venkateshwara Creations, Sithara Entertainment, and Asian Cinemas have already placed bids for the Telugu distribution rights of War 2. These bids are reported to be in the range of ₹90 crore to ₹110 crore, making the film one of the most sought-after in recent times.

Asian Cinemas Takes the Lead

Asian Cinemas has emerged as the frontrunner with a staggering offer of ₹100 crore for the Hindi and Telugu dubbed versions. Sithara Entertainment is hot on their heels with a bid around ₹80 crore. These bids are unprecedented for a dubbed film in Telugu, surpassing even the record set by KGF 2, which earned ₹80 crore in the Telugu states.

South Indian Market Buzzing

The excitement for War 2 extends beyond Telugu states. Prominent production houses like KVN Productions and Hombale Films have also expressed strong interest in releasing the film in Karnataka. The combination of Jr. NTR and Hrithik Roshan has ignited a frenzy in the South Indian market.

Pan-India Release & Distributor Confidence

War 2 is poised to become one of the first true ‘Pan India’ releases from Hindi cinema. YRF, the film’s production house, is considering outsourcing the distribution in Southern India to a local company with the necessary expertise. This move reflects the confidence distributors have in the film’s potential to break box office records in the region.

The success of Jr. NTR’s recent film Devara, which was a massive hit in Telugu states, has further fueled this confidence. Distributors are banking on Jr. NTR’s loyal fanbase to embrace his Hindi debut with open arms, and Hrithik Roshan’s growing popularity in the South, thanks to films like Krrish, Dhoom 2, and War, adds another layer of excitement.

Global Release Strategy

While YRF will likely continue its self-distribution model for the Hindi version in the rest of India and international markets, the film’s Telugu distribution strategy reflects a significant shift in the industry’s approach to reaching a wider audience.
