Hera Pheri 3: Paresh Rawal Walks Out, Citing No Creative Differences

The much-anticipated ‘Hera Pheri 3’ has hit a major snag with the unexpected exit of veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Rawal, who played the iconic role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the first two films, reportedly did not shoot a single scene before stepping away from the project. This news comes after Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, filed a Rs 25 crore lawsuit against Rawal for leaving the film midway.
A Clash of Statements
Rawal’s team issued a statement clarifying that the actor had not filmed any scenes before his departure. They refuted accusations of ‘unprofessionalism’ leveled by Kumar’s team, stating that the film’s principal shoot hadn’t even commenced. The statement emphasized that only a promo shoot had taken place, and the actual filming was scheduled for next year.
The statement further highlighted Rawal’s four-decade-long career, characterized by ‘honesty, discipline, and sheer craft,’ asserting that he doesn’t thrive on publicity stunts.
The Mystery Behind Rawal’s Exit
While the reasons behind Rawal’s exit remain unclear, several reports suggest that he demanded more money after signing the contract. When the production reportedly refused to meet his demands, he chose to leave the film.
Rawal himself had previously taken to X (formerly Twitter) to deny any ‘creative differences’ with director Priyadarshan. He expressed his love, respect, and faith in the filmmaker.
Suniel Shetty, another prominent cast member, echoed Priyadarshan’s sentiments, stating that both he and Kumar were taken aback by Rawal’s decision. Shetty revealed that they had already shot promos and were scheduled to begin the main shoot in January next year.
A Cloud of Uncertainty
With Rawal’s departure, the future of ‘Hera Pheri 3’ hangs in the balance. The production company’s lawsuit against Rawal adds another layer of complexity to the situation.
