Actor Atul Kulkarni Visits Pahalgam After Terror Attack, Encourages Tourists to ‘Fill the Skies’

A Show of Support for Kashmir
Actor Atul Kulkarni recently took a stand against fear and uncertainty in Kashmir by visiting the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam just days after a tragic terrorist attack. Speaking to BBC News Hindi, Kulkarni expressed his grief over the incident, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen on April 22nd.
“What happened on the 22nd was a very tragic incident; this should not have happened,” he said, highlighting the importance of action in the face of such events. He was particularly disturbed by the widespread cancellation of tourism bookings, noting that 90% had been scrapped despite it being peak season.
‘Kashmir is Ours’
Kulkarni passionately urged people not to cancel their travel plans, stating, “Kashmir humara hai (Kashmir is ours).” He emphasized the need to support the Kashmiri people and maintain the vital connection between mainland India and the Valley. He even went as far as to say, “The terrorists gave us the message, ‘Don’t come here’. No, we will come here, it’s our Kashmir, we will come here and that too in significant numbers.”
To encourage tourism, Kulkarni documented his journey from Mumbai to Srinagar on Instagram, sharing photos of empty flight seats and a note from the crew expressing their desire to fill the flights. He also posted scenic images of Pahalgam, alongside pictures of local Kashmiris holding placards condemning the attack and waving the Indian flag.
A Message of Resilience
Kulkarni’s visit to Pahalgam is a powerful symbol of resilience and hope in the face of tragedy. He uses his platform to promote peace, unity, and the enduring spirit of Kashmir. His heartfelt message resonates with many, encouraging people to stand together and not let fear dictate their lives.
