Indian Stock Market Soars: Sensex and Nifty Jump, Investors Celebrate

Indian Stock Market Ends on a High
The Indian stock market continued its winning streak on Monday, May 26, with both the Sensex and Nifty 50 indices closing with solid gains. This marked the second consecutive day of positive performance for the market.
Key Drivers of the Rise
Several factors contributed to the positive sentiment. Vinod Nair, head of research at Geojit Investments, pointed to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) bumper dividend payout to the government, US President Donald Trump’s decision to delay tariffs on the European Union, and the weakening US dollar as key drivers.
Nair explained, “The US decision to consider extending the deadline for imposing aggressive tariffs on the EU, coupled with a decline in the dollar index, contributed to a rebound in the domestic equity markets. These developments suggest that trade negotiations are progressing constructively, which could help moderate market volatility.”
