Google’s AI is Taking Off

Google is on a roll with its AI, and the numbers speak for themselves! The company announced that its AI Overviews in Search are now used by a whopping 1.5 billion people every month. That’s a huge milestone, and it shows just how much people are interested in using AI to get information.

But AI Overviews are just the tip of the iceberg. Google is working on all sorts of cool AI tools. Recently, they released things like Gemini 2.5 Pro, an experimental AI model that’s super powerful. They’ve also made it possible to create AI podcasts using Gemini’s Deep Research tool, and even have Google Maps scanning screenshots to help you plan trips!

Google is also moving away from its old voice assistant, Assistant, and switching everything over to its new Gemini AI. This means your phone, tablet, car, headphones, and even your smartwatch will all be powered by Gemini soon.

Big Numbers and a Few Hurdles

Google had a great quarter, bringing in $90.2 billion in revenue. That’s a 12% increase from last year! They also reached 270 million subscriptions, thanks in part to YouTube and Google One.

However, Google is facing some serious challenges right now. They’re in the middle of antitrust cases brought by the US Department of Justice, and there’s a possibility they could be broken up. The company is fighting these cases hard, but the outcome remains to be seen.
