The OnePlus 13s is a unique addition to the OnePlus lineup, being the first ‘s’ branded model. We’re less than two weeks away from its official unveiling, and excitement is building as we learn more about this intriguing device.
Launch Date and Live Stream
Mark your calendars for June 5th at 12 pm IST. That’s when OnePlus will officially launch the 13s via a live stream on their YouTube channel. Expect to see a barrage of details about this exciting new phone, including its pricing, design, and features.
Expected Price in India
While OnePlus hasn’t made an official announcement, Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, hinted in an exclusive conversation with Gadgets 360 that the 13s will be priced between the flagship OnePlus 13 and the more affordable OnePlus 13R. This translates to a price range of between Rs. 42,999 and Rs. 69,999. The 13s seems to be positioned as a phone that delivers flagship performance without the flagship price tag.
OnePlus 13s Features and Specifications
Here’s a glimpse of what we know so far about the OnePlus 13s:
Design
The 13s will be available in three captivating colorways: Black Velvet, Pink Satin, and the India-exclusive Green Silk. The Pink Satin and Green Silk colors will feature a new ‘Velvet glass finish’ that feels incredibly smooth to the touch. OnePlus emphasizes the phone’s design philosophy, ensuring usability doesn’t suffer in its compact size. It’s expected to be 8.15mm thick and weigh 185g, with a balanced weight distribution and curved 2.5D front and back panels.
Display
The 13s will boast a 6.32-inch screen, rumored to be a full-HD+ panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus is also offering a lifetime display warranty, covering the industry-wide green-line issue.
Performance and OS
This compact powerhouse will be fueled by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same one found in the OnePlus 13. To keep things cool under pressure, it’ll feature a 4,400 mm sq Cryo-Velocity vapor chamber and a cooling layer on the back cover. OnePlus claims that stress tests using Battlegrounds Mobile India showed stable frame rates for up to seven hours of gameplay.
Camera
OnePlus has confirmed a 32-megapixel front camera with autofocus capabilities. Teaser images suggest a dual camera setup on the back, likely featuring a primary sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens.
Battery and Other Features
OnePlus boasts that the 13s will have the best battery life of any OnePlus phone yet. While exact figures are still under wraps, it’s claimed to deliver up to 24 hours of usage on a single charge.
A new customizable button called the ‘Plus key’ replaces the alert slider. It offers one-press access to essential functions like Sound, Vibration, Do Not Disturb, and AI tools.
Connectivity-wise, the 13s promises enhanced networking capabilities thanks to an upgraded 360-degree antenna system with 11 antennas. OnePlus says this can improve signal strength by up to 60%. The phone also features a G1 Wi-Fi chipset, designed specifically for Indian markets, to ensure fast and stable Wi-Fi connectivity even in challenging environments. The 13s also supports 5.5G, enabling it to connect to three network cells simultaneously for blazing-fast speeds.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the June 5th launch date.
