iPhone 17 & 17 Air: Thinner Designs, New Cameras, and More! Here’s What We Know

Get Ready for the iPhone 17 Series!
Apple is gearing up to unveil its next big thing: the iPhone 17 series! Expected to hit the market in September 2025, these phones are already generating a lot of buzz.
Four Models, One Big Change
This year, Apple is shaking things up a bit. While we’ll see the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the ‘Plus’ model is taking a break. The real star of the show is rumored to be the iPhone 17 Air – a phone that could be the thinnest iPhone ever made!
Thin and Sleek: The iPhone 17 Air
Leaked images and information suggest the iPhone 17 Air will boast a 6.6-inch screen and an incredibly slim profile of just 5.5mm. Get ready for a major design overhaul with a potential horizontal camera bar on the back.
Both the standard iPhone 17 and the Air are expected to feature bright, durable OLED displays from Samsung. They might even get the coveted 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate (for smooth scrolling) and Always-On Display.
Powering the Future: The A19 Chip
Under the hood, these iPhones will be fueled by Apple’s powerful new A19 chip, built with a cutting-edge 3nm process. The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to pack a whopping 12GB of RAM, while the standard iPhone 17 could come with either 8GB or 12GB.
Apple might even debut its own 5G modem in the iPhone 17 Air. Both phones are expected to support faster 35W wired charging and MagSafe compatibility.
Camera Upgrades for Everyone
Selfie lovers rejoice! Both the iPhone 17 and 17 Air are expected to feature a significant upgrade to the front-facing camera, with a new 24MP sensor.
On the back, the iPhone 17 Air might sport a single 48MP camera, while the standard iPhone 17 is rumored to have a dual-lens setup: a 48MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.
When and How Much?
Apple typically unveils its new iPhones in September, so we can expect the iPhone 17 series to be announced between September 11 and 13, 2025.
Early leaks suggest the iPhone 17 could start around Rs 89,900 in India, while the iPhone 17 Air might be priced a bit higher at around Rs 99,900. Keep in mind that prices could change depending on global tariffs and other factors.
