Kolkata Influencer Claims No Espionage Interest from Jyoti Malhotra

A Kolkata-based social media influencer, who originally hails from Asansol, has revealed details about his interactions with YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was recently arrested for alleged espionage.

The influencer, who is currently under scrutiny by security agencies, stated that he met Malhotra twice: during the Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya last year and again in Kolkata in February of this year.

He emphasized that Malhotra never expressed any interest in military or air force installations during their time together. They visited various locations in Kolkata, including a popular biryani shop in Barrackpore, and attended an influencer’s wedding in Howrah.

“We visited several locations, including a famous biryani shop in Barrackpore,” the influencer told reporters. “She showed no interest in the nearby military and air force bases.”

The influencer expressed surprise and shock at Malhotra’s arrest, stating that it tarnishes the reputation of vloggers.

He also clarified that he has no connection to the other individuals arrested in the case and has not been contacted by investigators.

Background on the Espionage Case

Jyoti Malhotra, a popular YouTuber known for her travel and lifestyle content, was arrested in connection with a suspected espionage ring operating in Haryana. Authorities allege that Malhotra was in contact with operatives from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and was providing them with sensitive information.
