The BJP has gone so far as to label Gandhi as “modern-age Mir Jafar,” a reference to a historical figure who betrayed his own country. Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP’s IT cell, took to social media platform X to express his outrage, stating that Pakistani media is using Gandhi’s posts to push a narrative that favors Pakistan, despite India’s clear dominance in the conflict.
Gandhi’s Criticism of Jaishankar
The controversy stems from Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for his silence on the number of Indian aircraft lost during Operation Sindoor. Gandhi questioned Jaishankar’s lack of transparency and suggested that the government may be concealing information.
The BJP, however, argues that the government has already addressed the issue of aircraft losses in official statements and briefings. They contend that Gandhi is deliberately misrepresenting facts and undermining the armed forces.
