Trump’s Two Faces: Ruthless in America, Peacemaker in the Middle East

Trump’s Shifting Personas: Justice at Home, Forgiveness Abroad
President Trump seems to be operating with two distinct personas: one focused on retribution at home and another emphasizing forgiveness on the world stage. While he’s known for aggressively pursuing investigations into his political rivals and using his executive power to target even mild critics within the US, his recent Middle East tour paints a different picture.
In a series of speeches and casual remarks during his first major foreign trip of his second term, Trump has been sending a message of reconciliation and overlooking past grievances. This message extends even to those who have attempted to assassinate him or collaborated with terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda.
During a speech at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh on Tuesday, Trump declared, “I have never believed in having permanent enemies. I am different than a lot of people think.”
This stark contrast in behavior raises questions about the president’s motivations and priorities. Is he truly seeking peace in the Middle East, or is this a strategic move to secure economic and political gains?
