Rahul Gandhi Barred From Meeting Students in Bihar, Calls out Nitish Kumar

Rahul Gandhi Stopped in Bihar, Sparks Political Row
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi found himself in the middle of a political storm in Bihar on Friday after police prevented him from interacting with students at Ambedkar hostel in Darbhanga. Gandhi, who was scheduled to participate in the Congress’s ‘Shiksha Nyay Samvad’ event, was stopped by police at the hostel gates, prompting him to walk the rest of the way to meet the students.
‘Stop Me If You Can’
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Gandhi posted a defiant message in Hindi: “Nitish ji, Modi ji, rok sako to rok lo,” which translates to “Nitish ji, Modi ji, stop me if you can.” He added, “The storm of caste-based census will bring a revolution in social justice, education, and employment.”
Accusations of ‘Double Engine Dhokebaaz Sarkar’
Addressing a gathering in Darbhanga earlier, Gandhi had criticized the NDA government in Bihar, calling it a “double engine dhokebaaz sarkaar” (a deceitful government with double engines). He alleged that the government was afraid of the people’s pressure for a caste-based census and claimed that his party’s persistence had forced Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce it.
Congress Alleges Pre-Planned Conspiracy
The Congress party accused the district administration of trying to sabotage the event. Darbhanga deputy mayor Nazia Hasan called the last-minute cancellation of permission a “pre-planned conspiracy.” She pointed out that the preparations for the event had been underway for several days and that the administration’s actions were motivated by fear of losing their seat in Darbhanga.
NSUI Condemns Government’s Actions
National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) president Varun Choudhary echoed the criticism, calling the JDU-BJP government “anti-Dalit and anti-students.” He claimed that the event was sabotaged after the administration learned that a large number of students were planning to attend. Choudhary alleged that the government was scared of the students revealing their poor conditions under the current administration to Rahul Gandhi.
