China’s Place Names in Arunachal Pradesh? India Says ‘No Way!’

India Firmly Rejects China’s Place Name Changes
India has strongly condemned China’s recent decision to assign Chinese names to several locations in Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian government maintains that these actions are baseless and won’t change the undeniable truth: Arunachal Pradesh is, has always been, and will always be an integral part of India.
Background: The Arunachal Pradesh Dispute
This dispute is rooted in a long-standing territorial disagreement between India and China. China claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of its southern Tibet region.
Beijing’s Move and India’s Response
Beijing’s announcement of Chinese names for these locations has sparked fresh tensions. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, addressed the issue during a press conference in New Delhi, firmly rejecting China’s attempts.
India’s stance is clear: creative naming won’t alter the reality on the ground.
