India Strikes Terror Targets in Pakistan

In a bold move, India has carried out a series of strikes across the border in Pakistan, targeting militant infrastructure in response to the recent Pahalgam attack. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the operation, codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor,’ at the inauguration of a new BrahMos missile plant on Sunday. He emphasized that this was not just a military action but a clear demonstration of India’s unwavering resolve against terrorism.

Operation Sindoor: A Targeted Response

Singh stated that the Indian Army specifically targeted military installations in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Muzaffarabad, aiming to dismantle terrorist networks operating within Pakistan. He stressed that the operation was carefully planned to avoid civilian casualties, highlighting the restraint and precision demonstrated by the Indian forces.

The Defence Minister pointed out the stark contrast between India’s measured response and Pakistan’s actions, which have included attacks on civilian areas and religious institutions like temples, gurdwaras, and churches.

India’s History of Combating Terrorism

Singh drew parallels between this operation and past military actions taken by India in response to terrorist attacks. He recalled the surgical strikes conducted after the Uri attack in 2016 and the airstrikes launched in Balakot in 2019 following the Pulwama attack. He asserted that the world had witnessed India’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism on both its borders and beyond.

A New India: Zero Tolerance for Terrorism

Singh concluded by emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. He quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s declaration that this is a new India, one that will not hesitate to respond decisively to any act of terror, regardless of its origin.
