Rajasthan on High Alert: Drone Attacks Spark Security Concerns

Rajasthan on High Alert After Drone Attacks from Pakistan
Tensions are running high along the India-Pakistan border after a series of drone attacks targeted multiple locations in India. In response, authorities in Rajasthan have issued red alerts in major cities, urging residents to stay indoors and businesses to close.
Drone Attacks Thwarted
On Friday night, Pakistan launched drone attacks targeting 26 locations across India, from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat. According to India’s defence ministry, these attacks aimed at vital installations like airports and air bases but were successfully intercepted and neutralized by Indian defence systems.
Red Alerts and Lockdown Orders
Following the attacks, a red alert was issued across Rajasthan, prompting authorities to take swift action. In Barmer, district collector Tina Dabi ordered all markets to shut down and public movement to cease immediately. Residents were urged to return home.
Sri Ganganagar also implemented a complete lockdown, advising citizens to remain indoors. In Jodhpur, the district administration issued similar orders, directing everyone to their homes and halting all market activity.
As a precautionary measure, markets in Jaisalmer were also closed, and police urged the public to avoid gathering in public spaces.
Heightened Tensions
These drone attacks come amid already heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Earlier in the day, India accused Pakistan of moving troops to forward areas, signaling a potential escalation of the conflict. Pakistan, however, has denied these claims.
India Rejects Pakistan’s Claims
Moreover, India has rejected Pakistan’s assertion of damaging India’s S-400 defence system, calling it a “malicious misinformation campaign.”
A Tense Situation
The situation remains tense as both countries continue to exchange accusations and engage in military posturing. The drone attacks highlight the growing threat of cross-border terrorism and the potential for escalation in the region.
