Whoop, a leading health tech and wearables company, just dropped two brand-new devices: the Whoop 5.0 and the Whoop MG. Both are packed with advanced health-tracking features that go beyond your typical fitness band.

A Focus on Empowering Health

Will Ahmed, Whoop’s CEO and founder, emphasizes that this isn’t just a hardware upgrade. He sees it as a complete transformation of the Whoop experience, aiming to put individuals in control of their health.

“We’re building a health platform that empowers members to put the power back in their hands. WHOOP is evolving into the central operating system for health,” Ahmed stated in a LinkedIn post.

New Features for Deeper Insights

The Whoop 5.0 boasts enhanced sensors that provide detailed information about sleep, recovery, strain, stress, and overall health. It even has a haptic alarm to wake you up gently.

Meanwhile, the Whoop MG takes things a step further with features like blood pressure monitoring and an FDA-cleared ECG/Heart Screener.

Design and Pricing

Whoop describes the Whoop MG as its most premium band yet, crafted from Italian leather for comfortable 24/7 wear. It comes in various sizes and colors to suit individual preferences.

In terms of pricing, Whoop bands are comparable to smartwatches from brands like Google and Samsung. However, they’ve gained particular popularity among athletes for their accurate fitness metrics.

Expanding Health Tracking Capabilities

Whoop isn’t just focusing on the new devices. They’ve also expanded health tracking features across their entire lineup.

  • Whoop Age provides insights into your physiological age and how fast you’re aging.
  • Hormonal Insights offer a deeper understanding of your menstrual cycles and hormonal health.
  • The Sleep Performance score has been improved to better recognize sleep quality.

Whoop has also released updated versions of its SuperKnit, SportFlex, and CoreKnit bands, along with a new athleisure line called **Whoop Body**.

Looking Ahead: Advanced Labs and Personalized Health

Whoop is also developing a new feature called **Advanced Labs**, which will allow members to schedule blood tests directly through the app. This aims to provide more personalized guidance on cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and immune health.

To access the Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG, you’ll need to join one of Whoop’s paid membership programs:

  • Whoop One at $199
  • Whoop Peak at $239
  • Whoop Life at $359
