Tragedy Strikes Uttarakhand: Helicopter Crash Claims Multiple Lives

A tragic helicopter crash in Uttarakhand’s Gangnani area has claimed at least five lives, leaving the state in mourning. The incident occurred on Thursday morning when a chopper carrying seven people, including the pilot, went down.
According to reports, the helicopter, piloted by Capt. Robin Singh, departed from Sahastradhara helipad with a destination of Kharsali. There were six passengers onboard, comprising four men and two women.
CM Dhami Expresses Grief
The news of the crash sent shockwaves through the state, prompting an immediate response from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Taking to the social media platform ‘X’, Dhami expressed his profound sadness over the incident.
“Extremely sad news has been received that some people were killed in a helicopter crash near Gangnani in Uttarkashi. Teams of SDRF and district administration rushed to the spot immediately for rescue and relief operations. May God grant the souls of those who died in the accident a place in the feet of the Lord and strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense grief,” Dhami wrote.
He further assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to provide assistance to the injured and that a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
“The administration has been directed to provide all possible assistance to the injured and investigate the incident. I am in constant touch with the authorities in this regard and every situation is being monitored,” Dhami added.
