Pushpa Arunkumar, the mother of Kannada superstar Yash, is stepping into the world of film production with her own banner, PA Productions.

While Yash is known for his big-budget, action-packed films, Pushpa says she had a different vision for her first project. She wanted to tell a story with a message, something that would resonate with audiences on a deeper level.

Finding Her Own Path

“I’m entering the industry as driver Arun Kumar’s wife, not as Yash’s mother,” she says. “The production house, PA, stands for Pushpa Arun Kumar.”

She’s clearly proud of Yash’s success, but she’s determined to make her own mark. She wants to give new talent a chance, just as someone gave Yash his big break.

A Focus on Content

Pushpa believes that the success of a film lies in its content, not just the star power. “I don’t know if Yash will ever do smaller films, but that was my intention. This is just the beginning—there’s much more to come.”

She’s not worried about people watching her film just because of her son’s fame. “In my view, no one will watch our film just because I’m Yash’s mother—they’ll come only if the content is good, and that’s what should be appreciated.”

Looking Ahead

Pushpa hopes to continue making films that entertain and inspire audiences. She’s a fan of family stories and classic Kannada cinema, and she wants to bring that same warmth and authenticity to her productions.

“Ultimately, it should be an entertainer,” she says. “But it should also have a heart.”
