Rajasthan Royals’ Batting Explodes, Stun Gujarat Titans

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur was the scene of a batting masterclass as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated the Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets. They chased down a massive target of 210 in just 15.5 overs, leaving the Titans stunned.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: A New Star is Born

The star of the show was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a relatively unknown player before this match. He smashed a breathtaking 101 runs off just 38 balls, featuring 11 sixes and 7 fours. It was a display of pure power-hitting, especially during the powerplay where he and Yashasvi Jaiswal (70 runs off 40 balls) put on a devastating 166-run partnership.

Even Gujarat captain Shubman Gill, known for his own batting brilliance, couldn’t hide his admiration. ‘It was his day,’ Gill said. ‘His hitting was just tremendous and he made full use of it.’ This innings has cemented Suryavanshi as one of the breakout stars of IPL 2025.

Captain Gill: Powerplay Woes Cost the Titans

The Titans, who were aiming for a win, appeared to be on course after Shubman Gill’s fluent 84 runs off 50 balls and Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 50 off 26 balls helped them post a formidable 209/4. However, their bowling attack crumbled in the face of RR’s relentless aggression.

Captain Gill admitted that the powerplay was the turning point. ‘They took the game away from us early on, and credit to them for that,’ he said. He also revealed that a back spasm kept him off the field during RR’s chase.

Despite the loss, Gill remains optimistic. ‘The next match is at Ahmedabad, where we’ve done well historically. We aim to bounce back,’ he said.

Rajasthan Royals Revive Playoff Hopes

This victory was a much-needed boost for RR, who were struggling in the tournament. The win keeps them mathematically alive in the playoff race and shows that they are capable of pulling off upsets against the best teams in the league.

With Suryavanshi and Jaiswal in red-hot form, RR will be looking to carry this momentum into their remaining matches.
