A Moment of Terror Caught on Camera

A chilling video taken by a tourist during a zipline ride in Pahalgam, Kashmir, has captured the terrifying reality of the deadly attack that unfolded on April 22nd. The footage, taken by 36-year-old Rushi Bhatt from Ahmedabad, shows people running in panic and at least one person falling to the ground. Disturbing sounds of gunfire can be heard in the background, adding to the sense of chaos and fear.

Bhatt, who was on vacation with his wife Bhakti and son Preet, said he was completely unaware of the attack while filming the zipline ride. It wasn’t until he saw people injured and the firing intensifying that he realized the gravity of the situation. ‘I realised that there was a terrorist attack after around 20 seconds on the ride when I saw that 4-5 persons had sustained bullet injuries below,’ Bhatt told The Indian Express.

The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent people, left a lasting impact on Bhatt and his family. ‘My wife and my son were shouting at me and I stopped shooting the video and jumped before the end point by opening the belt,’ Bhatt shared. ‘My wife told me that two people from two families were killed (by terrorists) after asking their religion,’ he added, indicating the horrifying targeting of victims based on their faith.

Bhatt’s video, shared with a defense officer in Ahmedabad and subsequently with the media, provides a harrowing glimpse into the unfolding horror. While security agencies are yet to record Bhatt’s statement regarding the video, it serves as a chilling reminder of the senseless violence that continues to plague the region.
