India Responds to Pahalgam Terror Attack: Rajnath Singh Briefs PM Modi

Pahalgam, India – The Indian government is taking swift action following a horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam that left 25 tourists and a local resident dead. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 29th to discuss security preparedness in light of the incident.
This comes a day after Singh met with the Chief of General Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan to review military decisions aimed at countering Pakistan following the attack. The attack, which occurred on April 22nd at Baisaran meadow, is considered one of the deadliest in the Kashmir Valley since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.
Pakistan Violations Ceasefire
Tensions have escalated between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. Pakistani troops have initiated “unprovoked” firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on multiple occasions, marking the fourth such violation in a row. The Indian Army has responded “swiftly and effectively” to these provocations.
In a statement, the Indian Army detailed the incidents: “During the night of April 27-28, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control in areas opposite Kupwara and Poonch districts.”
The Pahalgam attack has sent shockwaves through India, prompting calls for a strong response from the government. The nation mourns the loss of innocent lives and awaits further developments in the unfolding situation.
