Kohli and Rahul Spark On-Field Drama During RCB’s Victory

On-Field Fireworks as Kohli & Rahul Clash
The IPL 2025 season just got a whole lot more interesting! During a thrilling match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday, a heated exchange between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul grabbed everyone’s attention. The video of the confrontation went viral, leaving fans wondering what sparked the tension.
Former India spinner Piyush Chawla shed some light on the situation. According to him, Kohli seemed unhappy with DC taking their time setting up the field. He reportedly complained to Rahul, who was keeping wickets. Rahul, in turn, might have gotten annoyed with Kohli’s words, suggesting that it wouldn’t be beneficial for DC to waste time on fielding placements due to the risk of penalties for a slow over-rate.
Krunal Pandya Steals the Show
While the Kohli-Rahul spat certainly made headlines, it was all-rounder Krunal Pandya who stole the show for RCB. He smashed an incredible unbeaten 73 off just 47 balls – his first IPL half-century since 2016! – propelling RCB to a six-wicket victory.
Chasing a target of 163, RCB started off shaky at 26/3. But the partnership between Krunal and Kohli turned the tide completely. They put together a match-winning 119-run stand, showing a mix of skill and composure. Kohli played his role perfectly as the anchor, scoring a measured 51 off 47 deliveries. His trademark straight drive off Mitchell Starc was a treat to watch.
Though Kohli couldn’t finish the chase, Tim David came in and smashed a quickfire 19* off just 5 balls, sealing the win for RCB in the next over.
RCB Climbs to the Top
Earlier in the match, RCB’s bowlers had restricted Delhi Capitals to a modest 162/8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/33) and the spinners were relentless, keeping DC in check throughout the innings. Despite the loss, DC remain in contention for the playoffs, having lost just three out of nine games. RCB, on the other hand, are now leading the points table with their seventh win in ten matches, extending their unbeaten streak away from home.
