The Indian Premier League (IPL) is heating up, both literally and figuratively!

The day started with a thrilling match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, where the Mumbai Indians (MI) took on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In a battle against the scorching 38-degree heat, MI emerged victorious, climbing to second place in the standings.

Pitch analysts Ian Bishop and Eoin Morgan had a lot to say about the Wankhede surface. They described it as “fantastic” for the 19,000 school kids who filled the stands. They also pointed out that the pitch, while covered in grass, was dry underneath, suggesting it might offer some early assistance to bowlers before potentially slowing down as the game progressed. Bishop even went as far as to say he would choose to chase if he won the toss, a bold call considering the intense heat.

The action continues this evening with Delhi Capitals (DC) facing off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). DC will be batting first, hoping to set a big target for RCB to chase.
