Pahalgam Terror Attack: Pakistan Denies Involvement Amidst Mounting Global Condemnation

A fresh wave of violence has gripped the Kashmir region following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22nd, where 26 civilians tragically lost their lives. The attack has sparked international outrage and calls for justice.

The incident happened in the scenic Pahalgam valley, a popular tourist destination. The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)-linked group, The Resistance Front (TRF), initially claimed responsibility for the attack, but they have since backtracked, denying any involvement. They labeled the previous claim as a “breach” and part of a larger campaign to discredit the Kashmiri resistance.

Meanwhile, tensions have escalated along the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border between India and Pakistan. For the third consecutive night, Pakistani army posts have fired across the LoC, prompting retaliatory fire from Indian troops.

Adding to the complexity, the Indian Army has been conducting a series of raids in Kashmir. They have demolished at least six houses allegedly belonging to active militants and searched over 100 residences suspected of harboring militant supporters. Hundreds of people have been detained in connection with the investigation.

Pakistan has called for an international probe into the Pahalgam attack, expressing willingness to cooperate with investigators. Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the killings.

As the situation remains volatile, the world watches closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution and justice for the victims.
